Ferry Ride To Phillip Island

Another Ferry

A Ferry ride in Melbourne is certainly something no one should miss. I had the chance as part of the Great Ocean Road trip from Autopia Tours. It was a short yet wonderful trip across the Ocean to The Phillip Islands.

The Ferry

After a long drive on The Great Ocean Road visiting The 12 Apostles then Loch and Gorge, It was time to go across the Ocean to the Phillip Island for Watching the smallest penguins in the world. It was a pretty huge ferry, There was enough space for at least a dozen buses like ours to fit in there easily. The Ferry had an Australian Flag flying high and it looked beautiful.

The Ducati

There weren't many vehicles in the ferry, but there was this really sweet bike. I have seen a lot of amazing bikes all around Melbourne and this was probably the time to sit and enjoy the sight. Well of course the Ocean was beautiful too.

The Ocean Out There

The Sky looks a lot more blue in Australia than what I have ever seen. Not sure if its because of the location of Australia in the planet or just an illusion. There were cargo ships that looked exactly like the ones in Madagascar Movie. I was half expecting a lion, a Giraffe , a hippo and a zebra to pop up. But I would be more than happy to just have the penguins. There were people kayaking across and it was quite interesting to see the variety of leisure activities in Australia.

Inside the Ferry

The Ferry had a nice Cafeteria and a nice comfortable place to sit and watch the vast ocean. But I preferred to go on the top and watch the ocean all around me. We kept looking for dolphins and other sea creatures but I wasn't lucky enough to spot anything more than a Manta Ray. Better Luck Next Time.

Destination Arrived

The Ferry Ride was without any doubt good but it seemed a bit too long. And It was quite a relief to see land. I can't imagine how it would be to stay on a ship for months. The ferry stopped at Phillip Island and we continued on the Road for a while to Reach our destination.
